Reusable nappies are a great way to reduce the amount of waste a family produces.
Did you know that a baby uses about 5000 nappies from birth to potty trained. In disposables that creates about 1.75 t of waste which is about the equivalent of 9 campervans full of refuse. These takes up to 500 years to breakdown in landfill.
Reusable nappies require 1/3 of energy of disposables (including production, usage and disposal). Single use nappies rely on up to 90 times as much raw material as reusable nappy in their production.

Buying disposables costs families in the UK between £800 and £1200 from birth to potty training. Reusables cost between £90 and £300, which means potential savings of at least £500.
